78-year-old Conquers Speed Slide

On a hot summer day, Lost Island Waterpark is the perfect destination, no matter what age you are. On Wednesday, June 29, Lost Island held their 2nd annual "Oldest Person Down Lost Soul Falls" speed slide contest at Lost Island Water Park in Waterloo. The prize? A FREE lifetime pass to Lost Island!
Taking home that pass Wednesday was 78-year-old Pete Brustkern of Gilbertville. His wife and grandchildren were there to cheer him on and celebrated the victory at the bottom of the slide.
The slide Brustkern rode isn't for the faint of heart. It includes free falling at 28 feet per second—quite the thrill! Congratulations, Pete!
