How we get the information and why we do we have it
All the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you for one of the following reasons:
- The User’s email address is used to create an account to save progress within the App.
- The User's location will only be used to determine if the user is within the park to track achievements and progress within the App. Aggregated location data may also be used for operational analytics purposes.
- The User’s First and Last Name is used to address the user in the verification email during account registration only.
All other Data is processed on the User’s mobile device as part of our privacy-first approach.
Lost Island utilizes General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) as standard while incorporating relevant aspects of COPPA, as the lawful basis we rely on for processing this information are:
(a) Your consent. You may remove your consent at any time. You can do this by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org.
How we store your information
Only the User’s GPS location is stored securely by Lost Island on our Azure hosting platform. All the information stored within Lost Island’s Azure hosting platform is anonymized and Lost Island will not be able to link any of the Data stored back to any corresponding User.
Personal Data shall be processed and stored for as long as required by the purpose they have been collected for.
- Personal Data collected for purposes related to the performance of a contract between Lost Island and the User shall be retained until such contract has been fully performed.
- Personal Data collected for the purposes of the Lost Island’s legitimate interests shall be retained as long as needed to fulfill such purposes. Users may find specific information regarding the legitimate interests by contacting the Lost Island.
Lost Island may be allowed to retain Personal Data for a longer period whenever the User has given consent to such processing, as long as such consent is not withdrawn. Furthermore, Lost Island may be obliged to retain Personal Data for a longer period whenever required to do so for the performance of a legal obligation or upon order of an authority.
Once the retention period expires, Personal Data shall be deleted. Therefore, the right of access, the right to erasure, the right to rectification and the right to data portability cannot be enforced after expiration of the retention period.
We have implemented generally accepted standards of technology and operational security in order to protect personally identifiable data and information from loss, misuse, alteration or destruction. In particular, we ensure that all appropriate confidentiality obligations and technical and organisational security measures are in place to prevent any unauthorized or unlawful disclosure or processing of such information and data and the accidental loss or destruction of or damage to such information and data. Only authorized Lost Island personnel are provided access to personally identifiable information and these employees have agreed to ensure confidentiality of this information.
As per the COOPA guidelines, the App will request verification of the User’s age before proceeding with the account creation process. Should the age fall below the required age specified within the COOPA guidelines, the User will be presented with an adult-level task that must be completed in order to continue.
