Making A Difference
Three years ago, the world was shocked by a viral video of a sea turtle with a straw stuck in its nose. In the last year we have seen stories of whales dying from ingesting obscene amounts of plastic garbage in Spain (64lbs.), Italy (48lbs.), and the Phillipines (88lbs.). This flood of waste is destroying our oceans, lakes, and rivers along with the wildlife that inhabit those places.
Lost Island wants to reduce the damage single use plastics are causing to our planet. Since watching that sea turtle video we have eliminated plastic straws, traded plastic serving dishes for compostable materials, replaced single use cups with reusable ones, and encourage Guests to bring their own refillable water bottles. Our goal is to completely eliminate single use plastic from the park. We hope you will join us in reducing your own plastic consumption however you can!
Let's stop plastic pollution together.
In an effort to further reduce our carbon footprint, Lost Island will be introducing recycling containers in 2020. These containers will help us ensure that every bottle used at Lost Island is recycled instead of ending up in our oceans. Please help send Every Bottle Back!
